Our 4-Step Master Installation Process

1. Consultation & Stone Selection:

We begin by consulting on the best type of stone for your application, discussing the maintenance and durability characteristics of each to ensure it aligns with your lifestyle or business needs.

2. Artistic Layout & Vein Matching:

Before any mortar is mixed, our artisans perform a dry layout of the stone tiles. This crucial step allows us to artfully arrange the pieces so the natural veins and patterns flow seamlessly across the entire surface.

3. Precise Setting & Preparation:

Using the correct premium thin-set mortar for your specific stone (e.g., white mortar for light-coloured marble), we meticulously set each piece, ensuring a perfectly level surface and consistent grout joints.

4. Multi-Coat Sealing & Finishing:

After grouting, we apply multiple coats of a high-quality penetrating sealer. This essential final step protects the porous stone from absorbing stains and moisture, preserving its natural beauty for years to come.

Artistic Pattern Matching

This is the true mark of a master stone setter. We take the time and care to treat your stone as a work of art, ensuring the final installation has a beautiful and intentional flow.

Deep Material Knowledge

We understand that a soft marble requires different handling than a hard granite. Our deep knowledge of each stone's properties—its porosity, density, and fragility—informs every step of our process.

Handling & Cutting

Natural stone is heavy and can be fragile. We use specialized diamond-bladed wet saws for crisp, chip-free cuts and professional handling techniques to protect your valuable material throughout the installation.

Durable Lasting Sealing

We view sealing not as an afterthought, but as a critical part of the installation. We use premium sealers and apply them correctly to ensure your investment is protected from day one.

Natural Stone Installation's Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, generally it does. Most natural stone is porous and must be periodically re-sealed to protect it from staining. It also requires the use of special pH-neutral cleaners, as acidic or harsh chemicals can damage the surface.
Vein matching is the artistic process of arranging tiles so that the natural lines (veins) in the stone flow logically from one tile to the next. This creates a beautiful, cohesive look, as if the entire surface was cut from a single giant slab. Without it, the result can look chaotic and random.
Marble is a relatively soft stone and is susceptible to scratching and etching (a dull spot caused by an acidic substance, like lemon juice). While sealing protects against stains, it doesn’t prevent etching. For this reason, we often recommend honed (matte) finishes for marble floors in higher-traffic areas.
This depends on the type of stone and the amount of traffic it receives. As a general rule, stone in high-traffic or wet areas (like a kitchen floor or a master shower) should be re-sealed every 1-3 years. Stone in lower-traffic areas may only need it every 3-5 years.
No. You must never use acidic cleaners (like vinegar, or many common bathroom sprays) or abrasive products on natural stone, especially marble and limestone, as they can permanently etch and dull the surface. We will recommend specific pH-neutral cleaners that are safe for your stone.
Yes, granite is an excellent choice. It is one of the hardest and most durable natural stones available, offering exceptional resistance to scratching and wear from heavy foot traffic, making it ideal for a busy entryway.
