Quality Porcelain Tile Installation for residential and commercial spaces

Kasa Renos provides expert installation of porcelain tile, delivering a refined and exceptionally durable finish for floors and walls in both residential and commercial spaces. Porcelain has become the modern standard for surfaces that must offer both sophisticated style and uncompromising performance. Our master installers have the technical skill and specialized equipment required to handle all forms of porcelain—including large-format and rectified tiles—ensuring a flawless, long-lasting installation.

The Superior Tile Choice for Modern Surfaces

Porcelain tile is a type of ceramic that is made from finer, denser clay and fired at a much higher temperature. This process results in a material that is significantly harder, less porous, and more durable than standard ceramic, offering a range of benefits for any project.

Exceptional Durability

With a strength that can surpass granite, porcelain is highly resistant to scratches, scuffs, and chipping, making it the ideal choice for high-traffic floors.

Water & Stain Resistance:

Porcelain has an extremely low water absorption rate (less than 0.5%), making it frost-proof and preventing moisture from penetrating. It will not stain from spills, making it perfect for kitchens and bathrooms.

Incredible Design Versatility

Modern manufacturing allows porcelain to realistically replicate the look of natural marble, slate, limestone, hardwood, and even concrete, offering limitless design possibilities with consistent quality.

Low Maintenance

Because it is non-porous, porcelain tile is incredibly easy to clean and does not require any sealing to maintain its finish, making it a practical choice for busy homes and businesses.

Our 4-Step Porcelain Installation Process

1. Consultation & Precision Layout:

We begin by consulting on your design and creating a detailed layout plan. This is especially critical for large-format tiles to ensure perfect symmetry, minimal waste, and visually appealing grout lines.

2. Substrate Preparation & Leveling:

A flawless porcelain installation requires a perfectly flat subfloor. We meticulously prepare the substrate, which may include grinding, cleaning, and applying self-leveling underlayment to meet the strict flatness tolerances required.

3. Expert Setting & Lippage Control:

Using a premium, polymer-modified mortar, we set each tile with precision. For large tiles, we use specialized lippage control systems (clips and wedges) to ensure every tile is perfectly flush with its neighbours, creating a monolithic, flat surface.

4. Meticulous Grouting & Finishing:

We apply a high-performance grout that complements your tile choice. After grouting, we perform a detailed final cleaning to remove any haze, leaving a pristine and beautiful finished surface.

Expertise in Large-Format Tile

Installing large porcelain tiles (such as 24x48 or larger) requires specialized handling, tools, and techniques to prevent cracking and lippage. Our team is highly experienced in these demanding installations.

Flawless Installation of Rectified Tile

We specialize in installing rectified tiles (which have a perfectly sharp, machine-cut edge), allowing us to achieve ultra-thin, modern grout lines (1/16" or 1/8") with exacting precision.

Advanced Subfloor Preparation

We are experts in creating the perfect foundation. Our use of self-leveling compounds and uncoupling membranes (like Schluter-DITRA) prevents cracks from telegraphing through your tile, guaranteeing a lasting installation.

Specialized Tools & Techniques

From high-quality diamond-blade wet saws for chip-free cuts to our mandatory use of tile leveling systems, we invest in the right tools to achieve a superior result that is simply not possible with standard methods.

Porcelain Tile Installation's Frequently Asked Questions

The main difference is density and water absorption. Porcelain is made from a denser clay and fired at higher temperatures, making it significantly stronger and far less porous (<0.5% water absorption) than ceramic. This gives it superior durability and allows it to be used outdoors.
A tile with any side longer than 15 inches is generally considered large-format. These tiles are very demanding to install because they require an exceptionally flat subfloor and specialized setting techniques (like back-buttering) and tools (like lippage control systems) to ensure a perfectly level, crack-free finish.
A rectified tile has been mechanically ground and polished on all sides after firing to create a precise, perfectly straight edge. This allows for installation with very narrow grout lines for a clean, modern, and seamless look.
Yes. Because porcelain’s water absorption rate is so low, it is frost-proof and will not crack during the freeze-thaw cycles of a Toronto winter, making it an excellent choice for outdoor patios and walkways.
An uneven subfloor creates voids under the tiles. For large-format porcelain, which is very rigid, these voids can lead to lippage (uneven edges) and can cause the tiles to crack under pressure over time.
For rectified tiles, we typically recommend a 1/16″ or 1/8″ grout line. This tight spacing creates a modern, monolithic look but still allows for minor adjustments and provides a durable, long-lasting installation.
